Control your projector from your phone
Whether a phone can stand in for the projector remote depends on whether it's a smart projector. Projectors with Android or Google TV inside can be controlled over Wi-Fi. Projectors that only take a video input need their own buttons or an IR remote.
Which kind is mine?
| Projector | Phone remote |
|---|---|
| Google TV / Android TV inside (XGIMI Horizon, Halo+, MoGo …) | Yes. Google TV remote app or Beamote |
| China-market XGIMI (GMUI, RS series …) | Yes. Beamote connects with no pairing code |
| Basic projectors without Wi-Fi | Not over Wi-Fi. You need a phone with IR or a replacement remote |
What you can do from the phone (Beamote)
- Arrows, OK, Back, Home, Menu and volume, plus your phone's volume buttons
- XGIMI: focus, autofocus, auto keystone, HDMI input, status
- Power on over Bluetooth on supported models
- Save several projectors and TVs and switch between them
Lost the remote?
Use the phone in the meantime and pair a new remote from the projector's settings. For XGIMI, see XGIMI remote not working and lost XGIMI remote.
